Design Process
Design
The PWS is a parabolic trough with a water-filled glass tube running along its focus.
​
The tube would be coated inside with semiconductor materials and the trough would be made of a thin, flexible, reflective material.
​
The glass would be about 0.5 cm thick.
​
Sunlight would supply the energy needed to catalyze the splitting of water by reflecting off the inside surface of the trough.​
